Do Crafts Creativity magazine has arrived, along with all their fun stamps, pretty papers and cute embellishments.

 

All About Paper offers a special bonus to anyone purchasing a 12 month subscription with free classes. Every month we explore one of the projects from the magazine, learning techniques and options on how to reuse the project in different ways.

Christmas Count Down week 3

Welcome to Week three of Addicted to Craft’s sponsored 12 weeks of Christmas count down.

And a partridge in a pear tree.

Create a set of THREE (3) Christmas Cards using the papers from Rouge de Garange (Rouge Xmas or Rose de Sables preferred, but any Rouge products will work)

Pergamano

All About Paper is very lucky to have two qualified teachers in Pergamano and Parchment craft. Their designs are very skilful and beautiful but more importantly as a teacher they love to help students discover and grow their own style and skills.

Our new teacher will be holding classes on the 2^nd Wednesday of each month, along with our regular 1st Sunday of the month classes, lots of chances to catch up on your projects. 

 

We are taking reservations for places as numbers are limited to ensure optimum hands on tutorials for every skill level.   As Ms Pergamano says ‘what better way to spend an afternoon than with new friends enjoying a handicraft in sunny surroundings’.

We have a large range of supplies for both Pergamano and Parchment craft available here in the store.
 

Point Shoot Play, photography and photoshop

All About Paper is proud to be the local host for Point Shoot Play photography and photoshop classes.   Melissa Mielekamp and Andrea Thompson are talented photographers, digital artists, scrapbookers and even better - fun teachers who love to share their passion, excitement and insights on how to get the best out of your camera.

 

I have two (2) last minute cancellations to fill for this weekend’s session, be quick and reserve your space for this class.

 

All levels are catered for beginners with a point and shoot camera to those who have a bit more experience.  Because our classes are small, you can receive individualised instruction on your particular needs.  

Raby Bay is a fantastic venue for getting out of doors for a bit of hands on action which only adds to the fun.

Under the guidance of Point Shoot Play tutors, you can improve your photographic skills from learning creative and professional photo shooting techniques, to learning how to enhance your photos with Photoshop.

 

The classes are structured so that they are easy to follow, using non-technical language; ensuring you gain confidence in using the hardware and software. The photographic techniques we teach will improve your ability to produce professional quality images as well as giving you greater creative freedom

 

Throughout this class we work more creatively as we continue to learn the in’s and out’s of Photoshop/Elements, working with layers, brushes, text and other tools to enhance your photos. Each student has their own lap top computer so you are hands on and active throughout the lesson. 

Techniques and tools taught include:

-The importance of working with layers

-How to use the various selection tools and their functions. 

-How to use the dodge and burn tools so you can add contrast to your photos.

-The various functions of the type tool and how to add decorative headings and titles to your photos.

-Lastly, installation of new brushes and how to create interesting photographic effects

 

Point Shoot Play is a great gift for someone developing their skills in photography, digital scrapbooking or image manipulation or even better a treat for yourself. You will be amazed how much you can learn from a professional in a short space of time.

Christmas Countdown Week 2

On the second day of Christmas, my true love sent to me, two turles doves!!!

 

Your challenge is to create a gift box.

with Dove of the East Japan - China

You can make a box or cover a box.

 

Addicted to Craft posted their version of a box with cards made with Dove of the East papers.  A special mini album with photos would be just as nice to tuck inside the box. 

 

So find a box to decorate or create one and fill it with treasures.

Christmas Count Down Week 1

 Jingle, jingle bells...................jingle all the way. Come on sing it with me!!!

It’s time to get in to the Christmas spirit. Time to dust off that tinsel, pull those decorations out and turn the carols up. Christmas is fast approaching and we would like to invite you to join in, the countdown to Christmas and have a little fun along the way.

Each Monday a new challenge will be announced and lead the way with a sample for you. You have until the following Sunday night (Midnight) to upload. You can bring your projects into the shop and we will help you with the photography and submitting.

Addicted to Scrap design team will choose lucky weekly winner. The winner be announced and their work displayed on their blog!

Please remember you need to register with the participating retail store you purchased your products from and any submission that lists All About Paper as their local source for all the greatest product around, you will be entered into our store prize draw too. The more times you submit, the more times you mention All About Paper and the more you have on display in the shop the more chances of winning some great prizes.

Photoshop and Photography classes

 
Some times it is the little things that mean a lot, like hands on tutorials in a small class environment.

With all the new and affordable digital options photographs we all seem to be taking more photos. Why not make the best of that at enroll in a lesson to update your skills or gift certificate for a budding photographer.

All About Paper is proud to host Point Shoot Play for lessons in both photography and photoshop, both in small class settings and one on one. Melissa makes everyone welcome and tailors classes to suit your needs. One of my favorite parts of the classes is where she shows us how to look good in front of the camera and then how to make fun alterations like this example.

How do you measure the weeks building up to the holiday season?

Would you like to add some fun to this year’s count down, find reasons to create cards and gifts? Win prizes and have a whole lot of creative fun.

One of our wholesale suppliers Addicted to Craft are hosting a special count down from October. Each Monday we will post information and samples that our design team has created to the challenge theme. We will have all the products needed to create your own challenge here in the shop.  All you have to do is follow the theme and challenge rules about preferred products and submit to their web site. You will be eligible to win a competition via Addicted to Craft and if you mention All About Paper, eligible for prize from us too.  

This is a great time to join the club membership, it entitles you to free classes, discounted classes and a discount on full priced products every time you shop (no having worry about loosing those little stamp cards, discount applied at the till.)
